Man and Woman-atee.

Anatomy has always intrigued me.

Everyone has skeletons. What a unifying concept! We have an oddly distant relationship with our own insides. I enjoy carving out the anatomy of the glass pieces I work on, and bring those details to the surface.

This piece was made in collaboration with Chadd Lacy.

I now pronounce thee; Man & Woman-atee!

“I now pronounce thee, man and woman-atee!” This is a process video of the creation and carving of a very special commission piece we made for the recipients Wedding Anniversary. This piece is a collaboration between artists Chadd Lacy and Adrienne DiSalvo. Chadd Lacy blew and sculpted the manatee and Adrienne DiSalvo carved the manatee skeleton, rose, heart, and the cameo portrait of the couple on the manatee’s tail. This hybrid man, woman and manatee skeleton literally connects people on many levels.
